Is This Your First Visit?
Your most important appointment with us is your first visit which will include a detailed examination of the neck, jaw joint, teeth, gums, and all soft tissues in the mouth. Oral cancer screening is also part of this exam. This is very important as oral cancer rates are on the rise and dental care providers are often the first people to detect an abnormality.
New Patient Intake Form
We request that you come to your appointment a few minutes early to relax and fill out our new patient form which gathers some valuable information about your medical and dental history.
Parking
Monashee Dental Centre is conveniently located right on the corner of Vernon Street and Norris Avenue where there is plenty of parking at both the back of our building as well as on Norris Avenue right near our entrance.
Dental Insurance
As a courtesy, we accept and help you with your insurance. Please bring your dental insurance policy numbers, and details of your policy, to your first visit so that we can bill your insurance directly.
X-Rays
We will discuss with you what x-rays we need to take at your first appointment based on your dental needs.
Our office offers the most advanced digital radiographs which expose you to lower radiation than traditional x-rays.
Have you had recent x-rays? If they are recent and complete, we can request them. They will provide us with the information we need to better treat you.
Dental Cleaning
Professional cleanings are recommended to prevent cavities and gum (periodontal) disease plus identify oral health issues as early as possible.
A professional cleaning enhances the brushing and flossing that you perform at home. A deep cleaning by one of our professional dental hygienists may include a polishing to remove stain and a fluoride treatment to prevent cavities. Our hygienists recommend cleanings depending on your exam results.
We will discuss our findings with you, and together work out a short and long-term dental treatment plan.
